Wofford beats ETSU, stunning the home crowd at Freedom Hall on Senior Night with a 72-69 victory. Wofford held ETSU to just 15% shooting behind the arc, forcing 12 turnovers with stifling defensive effort on the perimeter. The Terriers take full control of second place in the SoCon ahead of the last regular season game against The Citadel this Saturday.
Nil$ Machowski led the team with 20 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds and a steal, followed by Kahmare “Money Mari” Holmes with 17 points of his own, along with 3 rebounds 2 assists and a steal. Cayden “CASHKO” Vasko had 13 points, including the final three points of the game to put the Terriers on top, as well as 6 rebounds, 3 assists and a block.
Rex Stirling aka the “BIG THUNDER from down under” played one of his best games of the season, and finished with 10 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. True Freshman Brian Sumpter and Chase Watley recorded 6 points each, with 3 and 5 rebounds respectively. Watley also added a block and a steal.
The Terriers will play their final game of the regular season this Saturday in JRIS against in-state rival The Citadel. The game will tip off at 2 PM.
