Wofford G Kahmare Holmes wins SoCon POTW Honors.


Spartanburg, SC – Wofford G Kahmare Holmes has been named the SoCon Player of the Week.

In two games last week, the sophomore guard averaged 31.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.5 blocks per game, and led Wofford to two big wins over Samford & fellow SoCon title contender Mercer.

Kahmare is currently averaging 19.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 2.2 steals per game. He leads the Southern Conference with 43 steals on the season, and is second in the SoCon in points per game.

As it stands today, Holmes is on track to finish the season in the Top 10 in D1 program history in several categories. Here is where he stands currently in those stat categories:

Steal %: 2nd
Steals per game: 3rd
Points per game: 5th
Usage %: 5th
Player Efficiency Rating: 10th

He becomes the third Wofford player to earn SoCon POTW Honors this season, joining Jayden Tyler & Nils Machowski. This is the first time in program history 3 different players have earned SoCon POTW honors in the same season.
