Wofford Guard Nils Machowski earned the Lou Henson National Player of the Week award along with Southern Conference (SoCon) Player of the Week honors this week. The awards came after his standout performances in two SoCon wins for the Terriers. He scored 27 points to lead Wofford to a 79-74 win over Western Carolina in the conference opener. Then in Charleston on Saturday, he exploded for a career-high 37 points (12-17 FG, 8-11 from three, 5-5 FT), helping the Terriers defeat The Citadel 95-86.

This marks the first time a Wofford player has won the Lou Henson award (given to top mid-major performers), and Machowski is the 35th Terrier to earn SoCon Player of the Week since 1997. These back-to-back dominant outings highlighted not only his scoring ability, but elsewhere on the court as well, boosting Wofford early in conference play.
