Wofford was handily beaten by the Samford Bulldogson Wednesday night, with a final score of 97-80. The short haired dawgs fell behind early and never seemed to recover. As a team, Wofford looked lethargic, even exhausted throughout the game and did not play at the standard they have set throughout the season this year. Nils Machowski & Cayden Vasko both had off-nights, which spelled doom for the Terriers who have already without their leading scorer for the past 5 games.
Wofford certainly is missing Kahmare Holmes & Luke Flynn now more than ever as the starting duo have continued to miss time with ankle injuries. The Terriers will need to bounce back right away, as the final 5 games of the season will be critical to where they will be seeded in the SoCon tournament. They currently sit 2 games back from ETSU, in 2nd place.
Wofford moves to 23-10 all-time vs Samford after the loss, and falls to 17-9 (9-4) on the season.
Wofford will be back in action this Saturday, facing off against UNCG on the road in Greensboro at 5 PM. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
